Script deletion
Hello, there is no problem for the deletion. However, I think that restrict the thread to sysop only is only to prevent that sysops delete too much non-sysop replies in their "sysop thread" because a lot made "Sysop meeting" in their forum and only sysop can reply. More, we could restrict the script to only one sysop thread at a time. Gguigui1 (talk) 07:53, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
- While I do understand the reasons - it automates a process that may already be happening manually - our problem is that it was automated and distributed. We don't want to elevate a social issue to a wikia-wide technical issue. We'd like to improve forums such that sysops don't feel the need to do this, but not in such as a way that it basically says to users "you're not welcome in our club". - Yes, but many people understand that and do not reply. But few of them don't understand and their cause the issue. And I think the best way to avoid that they reply where it is forbidden is to block the textarea. If they couldn't understand "Please don't reply in this thread". I think they can't understand any other kind of polite requests. Gguigui1 (talk) 16:36, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
- To be clear: the idea of sysop-only threads is not something we're keen on in general - it is not how threads are currently designed to be used. Communication between users is an area we are actively discussing, but we're not okay with the use of custom code to restrict threads in this way. Kirkburn (talk) 18:02, July 17, 2014 (UTC)
- I'd like to apologize for my role in this script as well. To be honest it seemed to me that the purpose wasn't to necessarily exclude users from a thread but as more of a way to create a threaded update list. An example would be found here. This is at least what I had in mind when rewriting the script.

Script
Can you make a script bringing back the legacy style? And would it work to convert Oasis and FandomDesktop messages to that wikitext and style(and vice versa)? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Chickenleft1929 (talk • contribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!
- Not possible, sorry! Our codebase no longer includes the old code, so it can't be switched to. -- Kirkburn (talk) 14:26, 20 September 2022 (UTC)
