RE: Disable archive edit

Hey,
That code seems to predate the 2017 page header when page header selectors around Dev had to be updated (it apparently doesn't completely work now - edit section buttons are removed but those in the header are not) and the customization policy was modified to forbid customizing the page header. I wouldn't mind adding such an option to ArchiveTool, but you may need to consult with Staff about whether such an option would be allowed sitewidely.

UserImage

Hey,
Not sure if User:FDekker/UserImage is a draft for a future script to be published, but it sounds like it would duplicate User Avatar Finder. Are there any functional differences between the two?

RE: InterlanguageChecker

Hey,
Even though it's an external tool, it sounds like it could be useful on multiple wikis and it doesn't duplicate any existing script, so I have no objections to placing it on Dev. A few questions, though:

  1. I'm not sure what you mean by Gadgets having to be loaded from Dev. Are local Gadget- pages not working on the UCP? Did Staff state somewhere that Gadgets must be loaded from Dev on the UCP? Do gadget definitions need to be changed to load from Dev, or are they loading gadgets from Dev by default? I haven't used Gadgets on the UCP, but that behavior sounds unintended.
  2. Do you know why the tool throws TypeError: Cannot read property 'url' of undefined when the inputs are https://undertale.fandom.com/api.php and Toriel? It works for the Fallout Wiki and it works for legacy wikis, but for some reason doesn't on UCP wikis other than the Fallout Wiki (as far as I've tested).
  3. Would you object to the script being rewritten (at some point, by somebody, potentially) to serve the table without visiting another web page, either in a modal or a quasi-Special page?

I imagine "keep gadgets central" is more of an advice for Wikimedia wikis than other wikis using Gadgets - if a gadget is useful on Russian Wikipedia, it is likely also useful on English Wikipedia. I think this does mostly apply to Fandom, like in InterlanguageChecker's case, but for gadgets serving, for example, game calculators, this is unlikely to be true. As for the other answers - that's great! The tool already helped me remember to fix our interwiki map on Undertale Wiki, haha. -- Cube-shaped garbage can 23:53, November 13, 2020 (UTC)
