Just spoke to our Community Manager yesterday about this change, so glad to see there's a devscript to restore it. Thank you! • MJLogan95 • Message Wall • Contributions 16:23, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- EDIT: Ah, it's awaiting review to be approved. That explains why it's not working. Saw the green "Stable" in the Infobox and thought it was active. • MJLogan95 • Message Wall • Contributions 16:26, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- Oh, it got changed to "Personal" use only. Oh well. • MJLogan95 • Message Wall • Contributions 19:26, 20 January 2026 (UTC)
- Why was this even changed?? "Redirected from another page" is so much less informative than seeing the actual page it redirected from.
And why would it not be allowed to change it back to how it always was site-wide?
Honestly, Fandom's recent changes get more and more annoying... :(
Oot42 • Hi Bob! • 💬 10:46, 23 January 2026 (UTC)- I know, right? What a pointless and dumb change to make on a platform about encyclopedic information. • MJLogan95 • Message Wall • Contributions 14:46, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
- According to Fandom on their Discord server: "While the anonymization for general visitors will remain, we have heard your concerns (and seen the Dev Script created in the last few days). We are now working on an update to ensure that logged-in editors will see the original page title as before. You are right, this information is essential for admins and editors, and it helps to identify and revert vandalism effectively. This update won't be immediate, but we are working on it and it will be released soon. Our first priority was protecting visitors, and now we are focusing on mitigating the impact of this measure on your editing experience." so it seems like the function will be restored in time. • MJLogan95 • Message Wall • Contributions 15:21, 23 January 2026 (UTC)
- This makes no sense. What has this to do with "protecting visitors"? Or "anonymization"? Why, for what? It's a freakin' redirect. Why wouldn't they want to show the visitors what has redirected them? After all, you can always hover or click the link, or use WhatLinksHere, or whatever. Redirects are no secrets. I don't understand this at all.
Also, it's not about "identify and revert vandalism", what??

Is this script still needed?
Since the message has been fixed and now loads for all signed in users. Script or no script. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:10, 13 February 2026 (UTC)
