OldSyntaxHighlight is a stylesheet that brings back the old syntax highlighting colors in the source editor (or 2010 wikitext editor).
This stylesheet was heavily inspired by the script SyntaxHighlight by Rail, without using any JavaScript and using only CSS, in order to be more friendly with devices that can't load the script appropriately.
Installation
Main differences
- Doesn't require any additional installation other than the stylesheet.
- It considerably reduces the loading time and possible lag you may get when you had the script installed (mostly on devices with poor resolution).
- The stylesheet replaces the colors, while the script shows the colors when you deactivate the syntax highlighting.
Possible issues
- Colors for both light and dark themes won't adapt correctly to your wiki's themes if they are identical.
- It will completely replace the current colors in the source editor.
- Using both the stylesheet and the original script isn't advisable and may bring undesired results.
